Joint Job Evaluation Review

I have been working on the JJE (Joint Job Evaluation) project for almost a year now. We started with the intentions of replacing an older system that was created more than 30 years ago. A template for assessing job value, the JJE will endeavor to update the current methods with a more comprehensive factor system that rewards employees with a fair up to date pay scale to that of todays rates.

In short it means, the system will be rebooted to reflect current job requirements and pay employees on a more realistic scale.

I am excited to be part of this committee and what it potentially means for my local. We have been meeting once or twice a month to finish our terms of reference, and once ratified by the membership, I believe that the process of rating jobs with the subsequent renegotiation of our contract will prove to be quite positive for the membership.

More info to come as it flows through our committee.
