Last nights meeting was packed with motions to send executive to conferences/conventions as well as dealing with what seems to be a constant contracting out fight with various members jobs.
One pretty expensive motion of which brought many from the Zoo was passed last night. The motion to fight current contracting out attempts by the Calgary Zoo. Seems they don't want to recognized that we hold the certification for their Zookeepers, and our sister unions certification for their members. Time to make it political, as it seems their board just can't let it go.
I am planning on being at their next AGM, hoping more zoo pass holders will join me in perhaps seeing if we can't start democratically altering their trajectory.
Next month's Elections are coming and I am still running. Thanks for your continued support, you should have received your ballots in the mail. If not, call the hall and correct your address. You can always come in on election day and cast your ballot.
