I am getting closer to putting the podcast together. I have a few emails to ask current podcasters their preferences, as well as a hosting site to figure out. It looks like for the future of this situation I may be stuck with a monthly provider.
On top of the many co-workers who have passed away this month, at the hall we are going through some tough issues. You may be aware that Calgary has been going through some tough times. Those tough times, department budgets, overall Calgary is not what it was economically. It is also an election year and for many months preceding the upcoming bargaining, councilors have used our fixed costs for labour as a scapegoat style reason for why we are where we are. It is unfair to classify this so soon as this is bargaining in bad faith, but with the many checks in place, councilors are looking to balance what they may see as uncharacteristic wages for people in their workforce.
