The future.

As your Exec@Lg I would like to take a moment to wish you all a Happy New Year. This will be the last of our three year agreement and we will be actively looking for your advice on the next contract. As well elections will be ramping up.

I look forward to the new days of post JEQ work life. There already have been some hiccups, and I am sure there will be more. Contact the hall if you have any sort of concern. I know Roads and Water have been figuring out the new codes.

We are constantly in need of Job Stewards and if you are interested please consider it a New Years resolution for 2013.

See you all in 2013.

New Easier Domain

If you haven't noticed it yet. I changed the domain. If your in the mood for this blog you can also type in www.cityworker.ca and it will take you right here.

Keep coming back. If I can I will be changing the look a little bit. I am planning to use this space differently in the future.

New Treasurer

I would like to congratulate Richard Dalke our new Treasurer. He along with a handful of other hopefuls brought 175 members to the hall floor to vote.

We look forward to a quick transition as he will be required to take on the workload brother Ennis is leaving him. I look forward to hearing from our new treasurer in the one year term he has been elected to.

2012 Parties Done

Today was the last day of CUPE Local 37 parties for 2012. Yesterday we put on a great spread, and many members showed up. The children's party happened this afternoon and Santa was a big hit.

I always like being part of the social committee, but this year I have to say many of the committees are in need of a boost. We need members who are interested in seeing behind the scenes.

If you are interested, please come to the general meetings and when the time comes put your name forward.
